Cornmeal Glucose Sucrose Yeast Extract Agar for Zygomycetes
To stimulate sporulation in some zygomycetes, especially Saksenaea and Apophysomyces.
Ingredients:
Cornmeal agar (BD) 17 g
Dextrose (Glucose) 2 g
Sucrose 3 g
Yeast extract (Difco) 1 g
Distilled water 1000 ml
Method:
1. Mix dry ingredients into 100 ml H2O, boil remaining water.
2. Add boiling water to mixture and bring to boil.
3. Dispense for slopes.
4. Autoclave for 10 minutes at 120°C, remove and slope.
