Case History: A 64-year-old woman received a left single-lung
transplant for end-stage idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.
Her postoperative course was relatively uncomplicated for
7 months, when deteriorating pulmonary function consistent
with clinical bronchiolitis obliterans syndrome gradually developed.
Multiple cultures of the BAL and sputum grew the fungus shown below.
